Jeff is a Raleigh massage therapist trained in a number of bodywork modalities – from traditional Swedish relaxation massage to more invigorating styles that incorporate stretching and acupressure. He tailors the massage session to meet each client’s specific needs and desires, with the option for essential oils to enhance the experience.
When someone thinks of massage, Swedish style is often what comes to mind. Swedish massage involves long, gliding strokes in the direction of blood returning to the heart. It is known for providing deep relaxation and is also beneficial for increasing oxygen in the blood, decreasing toxins in the muscles, and improving circulation.
Deep tissue massage therapy is similar to Swedish massage, but the deeper pressure is beneficial in releasing muscle tension. The focus is on the deepest layers of muscle tissue, tendons and fascia (the protective layer surrounding muscles, bones and joints). Deep tissue massage has been proven to lower blood pressure and heart rate, reduce stress, and boost oxytocin and serotonin levels to improve an individual’s mood.
In Thai-style massage, often referred to as Thai Yoga, the individual wears loose, comfortable clothing to allow stretching and joint mobilization. Through targeted acupressure and muscle compression, Jeff helps relieve sore muscles and create greater flexibility. This treatment can be performed on a padded mat on the floor or on a traditional massage table.
